Aardman's Wallace & Gromit: Breakfast with porridge and toast

Β¬ Ingredients

For the plain porridge:

1 cup rolled oats
3 cups water
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
a pinch of salt

We suggest three options for toppings:

  • banana and chocolate
  • berries
  • apple and cinnamon

For the toast:

bread
jam

Β¬ Instructions

Let's start by preparing the porridge.

  1. Put the oats and the water in a pot. Add a pinch of salt and bring it to boil over medium heat.
  2. Mix well and when it starts to boil, turn it down to low heat. Cook it for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Then you can add milk. Some people add it during cooking but it burns more easily on the bottom.
  4. Add also the honey and mix.
  5. Place the porridge in a bowl and add your favorite toppings.
  6. For the banana and chocolate topping. Cut a banana into slices and place it on top of the porridge along with some pieces of chocolate.
  7. For the berries topping. If you have fresh fruit, you can simply add it on top. If you have frozen fruit, cook it for a couple of minutes in a small pot (or you can also cook it with the porridge). Add the berries on top.
  8. For the apple and cinnamon topping. Peel an apple and dice it. Add it on top with a sprinkle of cinnamon. You can also add the apple and cinnamon during cooking if you prefer a softer and sweeter apple.

Now let’s prepare the toast. You can use a toaster or a pan. Toast the bread until it reaches your preferred level of browning. Spread the jam on top.
